DAY 1 ITINERARY — Exploring the River Arts District

☕️ 8:00 AM – Breakfast & Coffee at Ultra Coffeebar

Start your day with a roasted coffee and a hearty breakfast sandwich. Great spot with indoor and patio seating, often filled with local artists and early risers.

🎨 9:00 AM – Art Studio Hopping (Part 1)

Wander the studios and galleries of the River Arts District. Many artists open their doors for visitors to watch them at work.

Must-Visit Studios:

  • Wedge Studios – Multiple artists in one building (metal, paint, ceramics)

  • Marquee – Large building with multiple galleries

  • RAD Rendezvous - one of the newest galleries in the RAD

  • 362 Depot Street Studios – Great range of contemporary work

➡️ Tip: Many studios open around 10 AM, but some open earlier. Grab a RAD map from any studio.

🚶 11:30 AM – Riverwalk Along the French Broad Greenway

Take a scenic walk along the French Broad River Greenway—easy trails, public art installations, murals, and river views. If you’re into active mornings, you can also rent a bike or kayak nearby.

🍽️ 12:30 PM – Lunch at Baby Bull

This classica and casual burger shop and a great outdoor seating area overlooking the river.

🎨 2:00 PM – Art Studio Hopping (Part 2)

Visit more studios or return to any that were closed earlier. Don’t miss:

  • Phil Mechanic Studios and surrounding studios

  • Pink Dog Creative (amazing artists and occasional installations)

  • The Lift Studios

🍺 4:00 PM – Beer & Relaxation at Wedge Brewing Co.

This local brewery is a River Arts District staple. Sip a cold beer in the courtyard, mingle with locals, and enjoy the warehouse vibes. Food trucks often parked nearby.
